Remove Planter's Warts with banana peels. Before bedtime tape a banana peel inside to the skin, over the wart, and cover with a bandage. Within a couple of days the wart will be gone.
Olive oil can be added to bath water for a skin softener.
Toner/Astringent -- Use witch hazel instead. No need to dilute -- use full strength. You can also rinse with a splash of Apple Cider Vinegar after cleansing -- it balances out the ph of your skin.
For great lotion, mix one-part lotion with one-part vaseline. It works better than plain lotion, and, depending on the cost of your lotion, you can stretch its value.
Remove gum from hair with nail polish remover, then shampoo.
To prevent hair pins from falling out, bend one prong in a "V" about halfway up and insert in hair. It will stay.

Old lipstick tubes, thoroughly cleaned, are great for purse-sized pill boxes or for pins.
Emergency Sinus Relief - swap white vinegar high up in the nostrils.

Free fingernail brush - When washing your hair, before you rinse off the shampoo run your fingernails through your hair a few times then rinse.
Facial Moisturizer - Petroleum jelly makes a great moisturizer. Wash your face and while it is still wet apply a tiny amount of jelly. Continue rubbing in a circular motion adding very warm water until jelly is spread evenly. Your skin will be soft and non-greasy even in the winter.
Removing makeup - Use a damp washcloth rather than cotton balls to remove makeup. It works great and also saves natural resources.
Melted Lipstick - Don't throw away that expensive lipstick after leaving it in the car. Just place it in the freezer and it will be like new. Transfer to another container, if necessary.
Beauty Tips
We all know that when we look good, we feel good. The same is true for the inverse. If you feel good, you look good. If you need to improve your self image or just continue to feel beautiful, try concentrating on innovative ways to enhance your appearance and feel better about yourself. Maybe it's time to try a red-hot lipstick or cut your long hair short. Whatever you decide, remember that it's all about what makes you happy both inside and out.
Every now and then, take a weekend out and treat yourself to a full beauty tune-up for your skin. When your skin is looking its best you're bursting with energy and well being. Make an appointment for a relaxing oxygen facial or a full body massage and manicure. Want to look like you flew to the Caribbean for the weekend? Then take a few hours to try out the latest self-tanners that provide a safe, real-looking tan, while moisturizing your skin. Sometimes having that healthy golden glow, even in the middle of the winter, can just make you feel so good. Indulge yourself regularly with things like massages, facials, bubble baths, long walks and alone time to read and contemplate your life. When your mind is at rest, your body will appreciate the effects of this state of relaxation. Proper rest is very important to your overall health and the health of your skin, so get plenty of rest. Reduce stress by gardening, hiking in the woods, or playing a round of golf. Or try simply parking your car a few blocks from work. This regular exercise will most definitely make you feel and look better. Don't forget to drink lots of water. When you drink water, it not only hydrates you inside, but it hydrates your skin as well. Eating healthy foods can also provide essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals and fiber, and are often lower in calories than processed foods. And last, but certainly not least, do something for someone else. This will make you feel good on the inside, which always makes you more beautiful on the outside.
Take care of your body by following some of these tips. When you feel good about your appearance, you'll be amazed at how good you will feel about yourself. These two aspects tie in together so closely that you must consider them both carefully to become a complete and healthy being.
Quick and Easy Lip Shine
Rub a generous layer of Vaseline onto your lips and around them for a lasting lip shine; also prevents chapping and cold sores.
Dry Lip Exfoliation
Add lip brushing to your morning ritual using a soft toothbrush or terry washcloth. Now add some lip balm to smooth the way for lipstick-worthy lips.
Tips For Eye Brows
Your eyebrows add strength and definition to your face. Well groomed eyebrows enhance your beauty.
You should pluck eyebrows before bedtime so any redness will disappear overnight. In shaping your eyebrows use your facial features.
Use a pair of slant edge tweezers which grip hairs easily. Comb hairs one way and then the other to remove loose hairs.
You should pluck hairs between the brows and any stragglers. Never remove the hairs from above your eyebrows.
Pluck each hair individually close to the root. Work in the direction of the growth.
Always avoid over plucking. In defining your eyebrows choose a shade similar to your natural hair colour.
When using a pencil you should apply in small, feathered strokes. Starting at the inner corner work outwards.
Blend the colour with a brush. To tame stray hairs just use hair gel and comb through to neaten.
Control Your Brows
Snipping instead of tweezing the brows might be all that is needed to control your brows. Here is how it is done.
Brush brows straight up and then check for hairs that are too long.
Snip any offending hair one at a time with a small pair of scissors.
Brush brows downward and check again.
Repeat the previous step, snipping any hair that seems to be too long.
Brush brows into place and check for any hairs that still might need attention.
Continue brushing and snipping until your brows can be brushed into place naturally.
NOTE: Maintaining your brows is something that should be done on a weekly basis instead of all in one day. Mistakes can be made that sometimes cannot be fixed.
Also, instead of pencil, use eye shadow to color your brows for a more natural look.
Filling In Your Eyebrows
The trick to full brows is to come clean, then fill in the blanks. Waxing director Eliza Petrescu of Avon Salon & Spa explains it for us:
* Choose a pencil and powder in the correct shade. Women with fair complexions should use a blonde shade, those with olive tones should go tawny or brown, and those with with African-American skin should use gray.
* Brush brows downward with a dry, mascara-like wand. To define the arch, use the pencil to draw a line along the upper edge of the brow. Comb the brows upward and outward.
* For added fullness, dust eye shadow into the hairs of the brow with a stiff, slanted brush. Dip the brush into a tiny amount of powder and use short, gentle strokes while applying.
* If brows have been severely overtweezed, brush the hairs in the direction of the growth, and fill in any visible patches with powder. Avoid adding to the top or bottom of the brows.
* Comb a clear brow gel up through the brows to set hairs in place
Hair Types And Tips
There are a number of ways to keep your hair feeling, smelling, and looking like a million bucks-without spending a million bucks!
Basic maintenance is the best way to keep your hair in tip-top shape. Change your shampoo brand every two or three months to reduce build up. Use brushes made of animal hair rather than synthetic fibers to prevent excess wear and tear on your scalp and hair ends. Allow your hair to dry naturally whenever possible to keep the ends from drying and splitting, and most importantly, visit your hair dresser on a regular basis and make sure those split ends are snipped off.
Most of us have hair concerns that are specific to our hair type. Listed below are tips and recipes that will have your damaged, dry, limp, or oily tresses feeling silky smooth and healthy.
Dry, Frizzy Hair
Shampoo hair every other day; washing your hair too much will make it dry and frizzy. On alternate days, rinse hair and condition the ends. If your scalp becomes oily in between washings, apply shampoo only to the crown of your head and make sure you condition the ends. When blowdrying hair, aim blowdryer nozzle downward and hold hair straight as you're blowing it dry. Our conditioners and moisturizing treatments offer natural solutions to the frizzies.
Oily Hair
Use a shampoo and conditioner designed for oily hair and use conditioner only on the ends of your hair. For very oily heads, massage talcum powder on your scalp with your fingertips and brush repeatedly to remove every trace of powder. Our Oil Reducing Aloe Treatment is great for those days when you've got the "greasies."
Limp, Straight, Fine Hair
If you have very fine, thin hair, your best bet is to use a gentle baby shampoo with a low detergent formula. Most of us with this type of hair long for curly, luxurious locks. For flowing curls that won't hurt your hair, wash our hair, blow dry on a cool setting until hair is just a little damp, then set hair in Velcro rollers for 10-20 minutes. If you don't want defined curls, you can easily maximize the volume of your hair by simply piling your damp, just-washed hair on top of your head and into an elastic band (coated in fabric that won't damage hair when it's removed) and blow dry hair on a cool setting until dry. If you must use hair rollers, invest in the kind that use steam heat, which is gentle on your hair.
Damaged Hair
Damaged hair is usually the result of over processing with chemical treatments such as hair dyes and permanent waves. Natural alternatives such as henna dyes offer a less damaging alternative to metallic dyes and peroxides. Over exposure to the sun and environmental pollutants can also cause hair to become dry, brittle, and weak. Hair is weakest when it is wet. Only brush your hair when it is already dry and always comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb before you brush it. Try our Avocado and Olive Oil Shine Treatment or Banana Almond Conditioner to perk up your distressed tresses.
Swimmers Hair
All you swimmers out there know exactly what we're talking about: green, dry, chlorinated hair. Wear a swimming cap! Also, wash and condition your hair as soon as you're finished in the pool. Once a week, use a deep conditioner specifically made for swimmers.
A day in skin care make it your routine and get glowing
10 pm--After having dinner and before retiring to bed have a glassful of milk (milk controls the melanin in your skin making you visibly fairer in few weeks.)
Have at least of eight hours of good sleep,
Take a good cleanser and scrub your face and neck and wash off with cold water yes because it has astringent qualities apply a night cream (plentitude from Loreal, oil of Olay, Synergie etc..)
6am- Drink a glass of water with lemon ,Get in your shorts, track suits, running shoes and head off for your jog, walk, or fitness center.
Before heading out for the day dab on some protective sunscreen that's not greasy (Nivea, Synergie etc..)
During your work day drink water in intervals and avoid in between snacks which are oily, you could munch on an apple instead.
Papaya is extremely good for your skin you could have it in your fruit salad in the evening or at lunch especially if your city has good salad bars or you can always buy it on your way back from home.
6:30 pm- 8pm After your office hours you could come home have fresh fruit juice (citrus will be more beneficial here nevertheless any fruit juice will do) So instead of grabbing a beer or scotch you could try something more natural.
Exfoliate your skin at least twice a week if dry skin is your skin type if you have oily skin you can do it every day .Exfoliating helps to reveal the younger looking skin hidden beneath the visible dull layer of cells it also helps to fasten the process of skin renewal.
Popular Exfoliates available in the market are Lakme, Shahnaz hussain's herbals, Dr jain's herbals other mnc brands etc.
You could also use mud packs to tighten your skin but do not apply the pack under your eyes as the skin there is very tender.
Makeup Mistakes Avoid Them ok!
Stop! Before you make another beauty move, read our cheat sheet on the most common beauty mistakes (and how to avoid them):
Mistake No. 1: Lining Lips in Dark Liner
Very dark lip liner only works if you're wearing very dark lipstick. Otherwise, it leaves you with obvious ring-around-the-mouth. It also accentuates any fine lines.
Fix: Invest in a neutral-colored pencil that works with all lipstick shades.
Mistake No. 2: Not Allowing Your Moisturizer to Absorb
When powder, concealer, foundation or blush is applied right over dewy moisturizer, the makeup tends to slip and slide around your face.
Fix: Give your moisturizer 10 minutes to sink in before putting on cosmetics.
Mistake No. 3: Picking a Too Light Concealer
Concealer's purpose is to hide dark areas on your face. If you pick one that's much lighter than your skin, you'll wind up calling even more attention to the area you're trying to hide. And wouldn't you rather have natural dark circles than crepey gray concealer circles?
Fix: Buy concealer in a shade that exactly matches your skin or is just one shade lighter.
Mistake No. 4: Contouring
Trying to sculpt cheekbones with brown powder usually backfires, making the feature you're trying to hide more noticeable. Plus, all that brown powder looks a lot like dirt on your face!
Fix: For the most natural look, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. The color will highlight the round part of your cheek, naturally making the hollow underneath more pronounced.
Mistake No. 5: Wearing Too-Bright Makeup Colors
Bold pinks and oranges can look great for special occasions, but for everyday, they're too harsh and can age your skin.
Fix: Choose a neutral makeup palette based on browns, roses and beiges. These tones work for all skin colors and give a look that's glowing, not garish.
